Maturity of Project Organizations

In order to evaluate and prioritize focus areas within a project organization, a maturity assessment is a good way to obtain and objective overview of the status quo.

A maturity assessment can be performed on portfolio, programme and/or project management level, and covers both strengths and development areas. A maturity assessment gives an outsiders objective view on the current capability based on open industry standards, and can set a baseline against which later assessments can be evaluated, as this can help progress assurance as well as to justify any further investments in maturing the project organization.
