SAFe® 5.1 Product Owner/Product Manager with POPM Certification in English

At this course, you will be taught the roles as Product Owner and Product Manager in a SAFe context, which will enable you to perform the key roles in an Agile Release Train after the course. The course provides you with everything from the basic principles and understanding of the whole to the practical techniques that you use in your daily work.
In order to fulfill the role as SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager, the participants must be able to:
• Describe the Product Owner and Product Manager roles
• Understand the correlation between the SAFe principles and the PO/PM roles
• Break down Features into Stories
• Manage Program and Team backlogs
• Work with agile teams in order to estimate and plan work
• Be the customer’s voice during PI Planning
• Execute a PI with focus on providing value on an ongoing basis
You will learn how to define major development tasks as Epics and how to break them down into Features and Stories. You will also learn how to manage your Program or Team Backlog. We will prepare you for filling in the PO/PM role during planning and execution of iterations and PIs. This will provide you with an understanding of how an Agile Release Train regularly provides value to what SAFe calls a Continuous Delivery Pipeline, what DevOps implies to you as PO/PM and how it contributes to regular improvements.
The course addresses persons who are or will become Product Owner or Product Manager in an Agile Release Train. As well as Product Owners who are working with Scrum and are curious to learn how SAFe handles development across various agile teams. You may also be a project or program manager, interested in how some of the work is handled in an Agile Release Train.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the course, regardless of prerequisites. The following prerequisites are, however, recommended:
• Have attended a Leading SAFe® course
• Experience with working in a SAFe® environment
• Experience with lean and/or agile
Approx. 3 weeks prior to the course, you will receive a welcoming mail with instructions on how to prepare best. Preparations are not mandatory, but we recommend that you spend a couple of hours or more, depending on your current knowledge.
After the course, you have 30 days for taking the exam, and during this period we recommend minimum one day’s revision.
The course is a 2 days’ intensive workshop from 9:00 am to 5.00 pm without lodging. Please note that evening assignments may occur.
You are expected to participate actively at the course, which includes group assignments of varying duration, where you will have the opportunity to discuss and share ideas and examples.

The course will give you access to the SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) exam, which is a multiple-choice test that you can take on-line up to 30 days after the course. After the course, you will have access to taking an exam as well as a test exam on the SAFe community platform. Once you have passed the exam, you will become a certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) and will receive a digital diploma as well as a digital badge.
Teacher and language
Our accredited teachers are experienced within counselling, coaching and management in agile teams, programs and portfolios. They combine practical experience with great knowledge about and an in-depth understanding of methods and theories. The course takes place in Danish and the materials are in English.
